What usually needs changing

Long gowns almost always need a hem so they do not catch under heels. Bodices are taken in at the side seams for a secure fit, and straps are shortened so the neckline sits where it should. Sequin and beaded fabrics need extra care: beads are removed along the seam line and sewn back by hand so the finish looks untouched.

Plan around prom season

Spring gets busy. Booking your fitting three to four weeks before prom keeps things relaxed. If the dress arrives late, rush service in 24 hours (+20%) or 12 hours (+30%) is available depending on the schedule.

Prices

Prom gowns are quoted after fitting, because the price depends on layers, beading and how much needs to change. Pooja confirms the price at the first fitting, before any work starts. Book online and the 10% launch offer comes off the alteration price.

Easy for parents too

Fittings can be done at home for $40 within 30 km, and pickup and delivery is complimentary when alterations come to $150 or more, within 20 km of Derry and Mavis in Mississauga.
